OPI Pawlish Fire Hydrant Red

YES, OPI nail polish for DOGS! :-)

I have been meaning to do a post on this for a while now and finally had a chance to today. I needed my little orange daughter's help with this one and I have to say she was not very cooperative LOL.

I tried doing some research on OPI Pawlish and unfortunately what I could find online was limited. From what I understand, this was a product line that OPI released in 2007. OPI no longer makes it, but I found mine on ebay and many other etailers still sell it. There was also a dog-safe polish remover made by OPI but that may be a little harder to find than the polish itself.

The color I purchased was Fire Hydrant Red, which in my opinion looks more like a pink in person. The bottle says its a "quick-dry, one coat" nail polish for pets. I have to disagree, especially for dogs with black nails like Jasmine. I needed to put 2 coats on her nails and even the first coat took forever to dry. It smudges like crazy and application sucks! LOL

I had to do this outside, and I am glad I did. She didn't want to stand still, I had to bribe her with treats! I would give her breaks and she would go walk in the dirt or grass and it would smudge. A couple of times she moved and then I slipped, and polish went on her fur! LOL And there was the time when she knocked over the bottle of polish while the brush was in my hand and the polish spilled all over the concrete! OOPS!!

Here are the photos....

This is Jasmine, my little orange daughter. She is a Rhodesian Ridgeback.

She's smiling for the camera!

Looks pink, doesn't it? You can see some smudges here...

Another smudged nail! For shame!! LOL

This is the OOPS foot!! When she moved and I painted her fur instead of her nails LMAO. Don't mind the length of her front nails, she has always hated having her nails cut. We are working on getting them shorter but the quicks are as long as the nails.

Here is another OOPS photo!! Looks like the patio got "pawlished" as well!!
